The Veteran is a love letter to vet family members, the art of magic, and cinema. The story examines PTSD in a new way, showing the dark humor of those directly affected.
The cast and crew are diverse and passionate about film. It’s topped by Migs Govea (Oceans 8) and Juliana Morgan Alvarez (BobbyAnna) with Joseph Culp (Mad Men). It is rounded out with the great new talents of Daniel Ebeling, Angel Dweh, Madison Siple, Tyler Manko, and Jennifer Tober. The film also features original music from Youtuber Ixi and voice work from the renowned Paul Eiding (Metal Gear).
The Veteran looks at generational trauma and how art can help us through our day-to-day.
“I had that discovery-style “Aha” moment upon experiencing the creative and resourceful film The Veteran. Auteur Jeremy Waltman’s non-linear portrait of the demise of an alcoholic Vietnam vet — powerfully portrayed by Joseph (son of Robert) Culp, richly embodies the can-do spirit and expressivity on a shoestring nature of indie filmmaking at its finest.” -Santa Barbara Independent
